I liked how we were able to study some of Ansel Adams? photography before going out in the field to try to duplicate his Black and White photography. It was fun for me to look at a focal point and to try to visualize the object or scenario with a black and white composition in mind.

This was a wonderful photo excursion to photograph wildlife without having to go on a safari.. My first time doing an event with this group. Our group leader, Kim, gave some very useful tips on how to photograph the animals enclosed in a fenced environment to remove the wire fencing from your subject. Very helpful to me. I very much enjoyed this event, and meeting fellow photographers.

I love the blue light of twilight its so peaceful and serene. That's when I made this image. It was the end of a long, late afternoon shoot there and I was thinking about heading out, but then I remembered one of the lessons I've written about in my blog: never give up on twilight. So I hung out and found this composition. It has all the elements I love about the desert landscape: soft mountains shrouded in shadow, a painted sky and a stand of stoic saguaro. Shot with Sony A7r2 and Sony 70 to 2

I am a member of the Saddlebrooke Photo Club in Tucson Arizona. A group of members took a trip to Death Valley at the end of January to 1st week of February. I was up at the crack of dawn to catch the first light of the sun coming over the Mesquite Dunes. It was a challenging shooting as we did not have any wind to clear the dunes of foot prints, but by using a longer lens I was able to catch this scene. This hoto was then processed in Lightroom and Photoshop.

The Bird of Paradise takes me back to my childhood growing up watching them grow and bloom in my backyard. So colorful, they symbolize flight, freedom, faithfulness and paradise. Their flowers remind me of birds wings, and so it's no coincidence that I also love birds and birdwatching! This photo was taken in Newport Beach, California, taken with a Canon R5, RF 100-400 lens.

Nikon D850 with 600mm f4, 1/2000s, Auto ISO 360. I spotted a hawk when I stepped out my door so ran back in to grab my wildlife setup. Of course, by time I got back out with the camera the hawk was gone. Since I had gone through the trouble of hauling out this big lens, I wandered around in the late afternoon light looking for other birds. That is when I spotted ground squirrels foraging across the street. I knew I was shooting into the sun, but bokeh can be a nice side effect. So, I got down lo
